Overview of Role:
*On a quarterly basis organise and communicate the dates and location(s) for the lived experience Focus Group.
*Coordinate the dates of the Focus Group meeting with consideration of the dates of the quarterly Suicide Prevention Partnership Board (SuPPa) meetings.
*Communicate the outputs of the SuPPa meetings to the Focus Group as appropriate.
*Explore and record the views of the Focus Group in response to these outputs.
*Represent the views of the Focus Group at the SuPPa meetings.
*Be willing to use the de-briefer and supervision with the role.
*Use regular evaluations to ensure the group is meeting the needs of both the participants and the SuPPa Board.
*4-6 hours per quarter.
*Dependant on meeting locations (Focus Group & SuPPa)
*Attendance at the Taunton peer group.
*MiS peer facilitators training.
*Safeguarding for vulnerable adults and children.
*SSBSS organisation protocol and where the role fits within it.
*Mind in Somerset Policies & Procedures.
*Whole service offering and appropriate sign-posting.
*What is a Debriefer and how to utilise this.
*Supervision and self-care.
Personal Attributes Required:
*Understanding and empathy that the subject matter is suicide and a life has been lost. *The understanding that the responsibly of the emotional and practical welfare of the group setting is your responsibly.
*Ability to work as part of a team, as well as on your own under own initiative.
*To be pro-active and self-motivated to ask for what you may need.
*Insight into how your own views, beliefs and experience can affect your relationships and interactions with clients, staff and other volunteers.
*Commitment to working towards equality and inclusion.
*To have knowledge of group working and dynamics.
*Understand Safeguarding and Child Protection.
*Understand Confidentiality including GDPR.
